another thing: Sir Pat was a model for getting older. Never seemed smug, always felt game for anything, always kept the memories and energy of his younger struggling days as a source of empathy.
Show PostWay back when, I'd see Patrick Stewart sometimes in/around the Whole Foods off the Gowanus. Drummed up the courage to stammer out some appreciation one time. He was extremely kind. Another time, he waved at my kid in the stroller. Can't believe he's gone.
