Ex-typhoon Champi into the SW Bering Sea Thu AM. This is the fourth ex-typhoon to enter Alaska waters this fall: Bang-Lang in Aug, Dujuan in Sep, Choi-wan early Oct and now Champi. Clear losses of #Arctic sea ice concentration are found in October. Some of the largest declining trends extend from parts of the East Siberian Sea to the Chukchi Sea, as well as the Kara Sea. Sea ice concentration = fraction of ice-cover. More info on recent variability: doi.org/10.1175/BAMS...
