When I was young, I had the good fortune to be in community with many militant activists and organizers and they were the LEAST judgemental people I've ever encountered. So encouraging, so excited to support younger people. I wish that my generation was as welcoming and decent.

The idea that we’re choosing to be trans is pervasive. In enemies, it manifests as the belief that if they just make being trans suck bad enough, we’ll give up and be normal. In “allies,” it’s in the way they act like it would be nice if we had rights, but we’ll ultimately be okay without them.
