This kind of supply chain attack is only going to get worse. And everyone is so eager to get the latest and greatest AI tools that they start installing shit willy nilly. Extensions like this are ripe for abuse

Not only a compromised Claude extension, one that is specifically for Cursor, the VS Code fork that SpaceX bought recently. The attackers got a backdoored version of the Claude extension into the Cursor marketplace and 5000 people installed it before anyone noticed

So it's early and we're waiting for more info, but looking pretty likely that the Binance hack was enabled by a compromised Claude extension? I am going to be turgid with schadenfreude
