I think there's a lot of fear in anti-trans people. Not necessarily fear that they are trans, but fear that the rigid gender categories that our lives are organized by aren't natural and immutable, that the sexes aren't as different from each other as we're led to believe.

Feminists who take anti-trans positions usually wind up taking intensely deterministic positions on sex. Males are by nature violent and dangerous and suited for leadership, females are by nature caring and helpless and suited for motherhood. Women need to be separate and protected.
