There are a lot of reasons EA probably won't license Mass Effect out to a third party, but "only BioWare could do it" isn't one of them. Obsidian did KOTOR 2. Larian did Baldur's Gate 3. And the BioWare that made Mass Effect 3 was almost entirely different people from BioWare in 2026.

From a global allocation perspective, it's actually quite terrible to have 1% to have a bunch of the world's money sitting in their bank account, being used maybe 5% of the time. Like, you want maximum utilization of the money on the market, and somehow, the 1% intuition is the opposite of that.
