We also shouldn’t find ourselves surprised there are so few experts who are strongly in the camp of “meta caused harm”. Good luck when your quasi experimental approach hits reviewers whose SUTVA violating withdrawal experiments found nada. Faculty gig? It went to the former meta employee.

Show PostSo no, meta isn’t paying you to say the jury is out on their products but consistent career support (fellowships, internships, grants) isn’t offered to people whose methods find harm. How does that shape the way in which we understand their products?
