3. R is open source and it's free; R is highly extensible The cool thing is that R has 'packages', or little, pre-programmed nuggets of code that you can download and use on R. Anyone can make these; good ones get well-known; it can allow you to do some very complex stuff with simple commands.

Show PostAs I suspected, we're downloading RStudio. RStudio-- and Positron-- are what we call 'programming environments'. Sometimes people call them ✨IDEs✨ or integrated development environments. You can work directly from R, but a lot of people prefer RStudio or another IDE. DL here: posit.co/downloads/
