Every week growing up. 7pm. My dad and I would eat dinner in the living room instead of the kitchen so we could watch Star Trek: The Next Generation. It was the thing that bound us. Even just before he died, my dad would always quiz me about TNG. Losing Patrick is like losing dad all over again.

On Friday we said goodbye to this darling girl, who would've turned 23 in December. When I'm less heartbroken I'll tell the story of how she came to me and shaped so much of my life. We loved her so much. There will never be another like her.
