OPEIU honors the life and legacy of Dolores Huerta (1930-2026). Throughout her long life, Huerta bridged movements while fighting tirelessly for farmworkers and their families. Until the very end, Huerta displayed courage, resilience and solidarity to the highest degree.

Massachusetts is now the first state to certify a rideshare driver union after granting Lyft and Uber drivers' collective bargaining rights. This is the largest new private-sector union in over 85 years. 70,000 workers are now represented by the App Drivers Union.
