These have had a few rounds of mending already, as you can see. Today, it's the top of the toes again. (Do I need to trim my toenails more??) This is much thinner yarn than the other pair, so a bit harder to see clearly and follow the existing stitches.

There we go. Swiss darning also gets called duplicate stitch, because it, well, duplicates the stitches that are already there. It's a bit raised up at the moment, but will bed right in once I've worn them a bit.

Those old wives who said "A stitch in time saves nine"? Turns out, they really knew what they were talking about. It takes a mind set shift, to check things for signs of wear when you put them on, or when you put them to wash, rather than wait till there's a really obvious hole.

First up, hand knitted socks. Yes, I have 3. What? I had wool left over. And they were double knitting, so a quick knit.🤷
