There has been an all take no give attitude problem growing in fandom for years, but it seems this mass reuploading event is the pinnacle of this disrespect.
Show PostDownloading fic from AO3 for personal use and private sharing is a built in part of AO3 itself and something it is safe to presume the authors consented to. Uploads to unrelated for profit websites that none of the involved authors have explicitly indicated they trust is a huge consent violation.
