@sldkfjasd.bsky.socialDo try not to undersell yourself! You can always give your commission guidelines a try, and adjust them after, especially if you take on a very limited number of clients to start with. That will give you a better idea to gauge how much work you did for your payment.
Show PostIf it's any consolation, you're hardly the only artist struggling with this. Check out how other artists outline their work and pricing, some are very detailed about just how much rendering, detailing, background is accounted for, and how much a character (or added after) accounts for pricing.
Show PostCommunicate often. Tell clients if you're having problems. Ask questions even if you think they are silly - sometimes clients will blindside you. Charge enough money that you feel comfortable, + extra for emergencies or difficulties in comms. Your safety is top priority for good quality work.
Show PostPeople want as many questions answered before messaging as possible. I would add a list of things that you're okay with drawing, and have examples of your work. Avoid having too many pricing options as well - bust, thigh, half and stuff just confuses people.
Show PostMake sure your sheet is really easily accessible after you make it. It sounds crazy, but If a person can't find out if you take commissions and how they can do it within 30 seconds of looking at you they'll probably give up.
