I may be sad, irrelevant, out of touch, whatever. But on the other hand, I never directed fucking Next Goal Wins or acted poorly in Free Guy, the worst and most cynical movie of the decade.

I also balk at the idea that all critics are failed artists. Maybe some are, but I always wanted to be a critic. It is fun and exciting to defend great art that needs more friends. The problem with Taika, beyond being a hack, is he has too many.

both major parties have spent a lot of money and effort convincing us that it’s a zero sum game between the two of them, and they don’t have to actually do anything that benefits the people as a result. it’s why we’ve slipped further and further right as a country.
