I feel like we are a bit stuck in data-driven research on transit performance by the fact that we rely on transit agencies' feed that are intended for different purposes (mngt and customer info). Many such cases in research where we rely on not ideal existing data to answer our research questions.

My dream project would be to do something like this but with better data input, i.e. with gps loggers that send more pricise positions more often, maybe linked with vehicle-mounted cameras to better understand the actual causes of delay in a more qualitative way.
