In 1931, Stefan Banach proved that differentiable functions constitute a "meager set" of continuous functions. Differentiability is a fairy tale we tell our students to protect them from a horrible fact: most continuous functions are monsters. Mathematically speaking, monsters are everywhere.

Stood up and tried to walk, not realizing my leg was numb. Went predictably badly - rolled my ankle and further tweaked my knee, plus bruised my butt when I fell backwards into the coffee table. So things are going greaaaaaat.
