So, I grew up eating candy-coated fennel seeds (saunf) from India and I suspect that's why I love black licorice. Unfortunately I have zero impulse control so if I buy a bag of black licorice jelly beans, I run the risk of raising my blood pressure if they have real licorice in them.

Everything is just kind of smoothing out into a mediocre malaise. On one hand, we have no monoculture like we used to, but on the other hand, we do now have some kind of weird version of a mono culture, but it’s different aspects of culture instead of the movies and music you listen to.
