I believe this is about changing what the not-so-politically-engaged general public sees in their social media feeds by putting a collective thumb on the scales of the algorithm. And to do that, you need to be where those people are.

I agree, but you quit feeding the machine *after* the election. Lots of people came back to twitter even just to amplify pro-Lula posts and help pro-Lula hashtags go to the trending topics, it definitely made a difference
