I don’t know how to close this out. I always wanted to get this off my chest and I’ve danced around it on stream but you don’t have to drink, you don’t have to suffer, and you don’t have to shoulder things alone.

And the fact is we shame people for failing at a disease - a horrific one which will humiliate you, lead you to dark places, kill you, and confuse you as to whether or not it’s actually your fault. Addiction is the closest thing to science fiction mind control. I’d never wish it on anyone.

If you struggle with drinking or drugs or anything, the stupidest thing I ever did was to try and shoulder it alone. I do recommend programs like AA, group therapy, or even just telling a doctor. It’s a lot easier when you realize you’re not a loser, you fell into a trap almost everyone does

That guy is - was - me, and I can only hold out hope it will never be me again. I like to dust shit up on bluesky and get engagement off YouTube and all that, but honestly, my life is shaped how I like it, thank you much.
