The term I've become accustomed to and seen most embraced is "anti-transmasculinity," but I would also use whatever language ends up being the recognizable term as this kind of discussion shakes out.
Show PostExample: I've often heard complaints about the term "transandrophobia" based on the behavior of the transmascs who use it, but to me it's important to see that this is an ethical complaint, not a theoretical one. The patterns these terms describe can still exist and we should be curious about them.
Show PostMy impression over the years is that debates about the oppression of trans men frequently revolve around the complaint that men who focus on trans men's oppression behave badly toward trans women. Whether or not this is true, I dislike how that masks the question of what that oppression looks like.
Show PostI kind of think of this as the heart of "Twitter beef." I'm reminded of so many people who thought they had my number but ignored huge swaths of what I actually said.
Show PostBut it's really easy to see people do it about almost every group they have problems with. The worst gets highlighted, the best and the finer points get omitted.
