I miss Scott Forstall. It’s clear Ternus is a hardware guy and that’s cool. But like the software needs to sell it. And this looks like solution in search of a problem. Features are not intrinsically benefits.

Apple often claims certain features are pointless, then suddenly change their tune when they figure out a design they are happy with. It's why they were late to market with iPad stylus and foldable iPhone Watching demos of the touchscreen MBP though, I feel like maybe they were right the first time

Note that it's not just a matter of visual noise - ad blockers are also _tracker_ blockers, and those may be present even on sites that don't appear to be as bad from a content perspective. And even for tasteful ads, the automatic auctions delay page loading and waste your bandwidth on mb of junk js

I have no respect for austerity politics and don't actually find any of my claims to be convincing–I want to own compute inefficiently. It's just to say: if that is in your (e.g. Sam Altman's) best interests, there's a way to pitch it that directly responds to common points of criticism.
