Note: the same media shenanigans and bullshit happening in different parties that don’t share the same politicians and members disproves any suggestion that it’s the members that are the problem. The common factor is spiteful reactionary wankers collaborating with our horrible newspapers.
Show PostNot least because in many cases we still have 350 years worth of accounts books detailing exactly where the money went, and who has it right now
Show PostIndeed, quite so. As it goes, we actually *should* think ill of some people's ancestors, and we should also ask why those ancestors' descendants have massive piles of cash, now. These are all the questions you don't want people asking in the UK, though.
Show PostAlso, it’s like e.g. Joanna Lumley saying we should not think ill of our ancestors. But she didn’t mean “our ancestors” - mine are mostly menial workers in Scotland and neighbouring countries. She meant *her* ancestors, who were IIRC imperial administrators in India.
Show PostLike when a former electoral candidate for the natural party of government says, "They're terrorists," shortly before handing several thousands of pounds in cash to a guy who openly boasts about killing people as an affiliate of a proscribed terror group—that all seems very Terrorism Act 2000 to me.
