Mike, if you believe the fight for gay rights started in the 80s that may explain why you are missing some pieces here for example, Stonewall was in 1969, with trans people leading the charge Magnus Hirschfeld’s sexology institute which performed trans surgery was destroyed in 1933 by the Nazis
Show PostWe already had these rights, Mike. Stop acting like we just showed up yesterday. Trans people fighting for LGBTQ rights in the 60s and 70s as well as standing right beside gay people protesting for all of our rights in the 80s. Yeah, you didn't demand 100%, you told trans people to wait our turn.
Show PostAs a trans conversion therapy survivor, I know the damage these practices cause. Rebranding them as legitimate treatment doesn’t change what they are. Changing the language doesn’t erase the harm. We cannot let loopholes make conversion therapy acceptable again. No one should survive what we did. 💔
Show PostDemocrats can't take no as an answer from trans people. You don’t have our consent to govern us against our interests: be responsive to us, or violate our consent. Your choice: violate our bodily integrity by making decisions about our bodies for us, or listen. Either way, we will say no. No is no.
Show PostWhen oppression determines whether you eat, whether your body remains intact, whether you’re exposed to the elements or raped, whether you can direct your life, whether your freedom is stripped away, whether you're torn from your community, or whether you have worth, blood has already been shed.
