'The Chip Shop' by Eric Satchwell, 1952 in Salford Art Gallery. Born in Northampton, Satchwell spent the end of WWII in Venice, whose artists had a strong influence on his work. As art master at Salford Grammar School, one of his pupils was Harold Riley. He died in 2012.
