Anyway, this is why I don't write to persuade cis people of anything. My short term political goals are keeping trans people alive and making ourselves enough of a problem to people in power to force concessions.

Any proposed advance in our rights will be portrayed as too far. Any complaint about our mistreatment will be written off as crazy lies and hysteria.

Like it's impossible to get most cis people to recognise harm to us as wrong because they think they're doing us a favour by letting us live at all.

One big issue for trans organising as awareness raising is that the deep down belief of the median cis person is that we should thank them sweetly for not shooting us on sight as a matter of official public policy.
