Nah, we have to run hard in all 50 states. The moral of the Lucy parable is to give up. We don’t want to give up.
Show PostJesus CHRIST
Show PostMoral of the story: If you want fewer crash deaths, target the people and institutions who can make the most substantive change. Worse than pointless, blaming individuals is a distraction. This op-ed is counterproductive garbage.
Show PostBut regulators, carmakers, and engineers don’t want accountability for curbing crashes. They’d rather say “Road safety is EVERYONE’s responsibility” If it’s everyone’s responsibility, it’s no one’s responsibility. They can always point to someone else (usually individuals).
Show PostNow let’s ask: Who has the power to reduce crashes? ▪️ Policymakers can improve transit, boost density, and tighten enforcement ▪️ Carmakers can adopt less deadly vehicles ▪️ Engineers can stop designing streets that favor speed over safety In comparison, individual drivers/pedestrians can't do much.
