Agreed. Too often we wait until demagogues get a foothold. How many people suffered — and died! — before McCarthy was stopped in the 1950s? Trump's in the White House. We DIDN'T dodge this bullet. We need to stop him now — and be more vigilant in the future.

I think he will. But if he gets elected, the first order of business will be healing wounds from the primary. There are a number of Michigan Democrats who don't think he's adequately addressed antisemitism, for example. In the end, though, he'll be good.
