The press is indifferent to democracy and the Republican Party is actively hostile to it. I really believe the only path here is to cultivate a widespread civic religion that reacts with visceral disgust at any person or institution that seeks or facilitates undermining democracy.

Google has been defunding the web and destroying journalism for years. This was always going to eventually be bad for Google itself, but the people who still work there have been snorting their own undiluted Kool-Aid about being anything other than parasites so hard that they can't see it coming.

I'm less exercised about her lying to investors. It's the fact she was giving people inaccurate medical test results that's the bigger problem, as well as harassing her critics and whistleblowers.
