I don't buy that explanation. I see readers comment on other people's stories in length, but it's crickets for me, except for like three people. It really is tiresome. I still miss AO3, I was in the middle of posting a story, sigh. When it's back on, every interest in it will probably be dead.

Yesterday we were at Costo just Costcoing as one does, and my husband appeared from behind a potato chip display and plunked THIS in the cart and declared that instead of earrings he was getting me this for my birthday this year and honestly, this shit right here is why I married him.

There was one person who kept telling me how they wish I had written certain scenes, even going into detail how they would have written it themselves. They weren't trying to be a dick, but it pissed me off so much. Even though the void sucks, I would rather get no feedback than get that again.

You are lucky to get any engagement at all... I usually post into the void, even though I have more than 270 subscribers in a very niche ship. It is highly depressing. But being told to write it differently would piss me off A LOT, too.
