My bff when I was a kid came from an aristocratic background and her grandmother told her to eat ice cream with a fork because a spoon was a "shovel." She was also taught to eat an orange with a fork and knife. As in cut into wedges and then cut the peel and pith away from the bottom. It was nuts.
