This is excellent and the true reflection of Bibi's humiliation. His ideological bloc is only 39 strong. The 14 in black (orthodox parties) are not an ideological bloc and will form a coalition with whomever agrees to keep their exemptions from military service, and Yeshiva funding.

Again: there are always unique domestic politics & institutions. But the running 🧵, from 🇺🇸 to 🇩🇪 to 🇫🇷 to now 🇮🇱, is that only ~25-35% of the public in rich countries truly wants the far right authoritarianism. So the question is whether the 65-75% can overcome their mishegas & keep them from power.

i don't think anyone should run explicitly on banning online gambling but i do think that a democratic-led government should just quietly take steps to undermine the industry and create an inhospitable regulatory environment
