The amount of stuff we have learned to keep a poker face for. "Soup is not for painting, if you keep painting your pickle with soup I will take away your pickle" is an actual thing that came out of my mouth in it two hours ago

It's like at preschool when I'm being my chirpiest self and it slowly dawns on a new volunteer parent that amid the patter some of the things I am saying/singing to the kids are actually jokes aimed in the adults' direction, and not entirely Mary Poppins in nature
