The right response to rising racism is to fight it tooth and nail, no matter whether it's directed against UK-born British citizens, naturalised citizens or immigrants without British citizenship. The wrong answer is to direct the cruelty towards immigrants, hoping to placate the racists.

It would soften off a lot of the worst of the policy - even just knowing that there's some sort of cap on the wait would help a lot of people who are looking at a 15 - never wait right now

Changing the ILR rules post immigration is so F’d up. My partner is German and is on a five year track visa to ILR - now it sounds like he will be moved to a 10 year track 😡😭. Along with their (lack of) policy on biodiversity, I’m very much not impressed with @labouruk.bsky.social.
