Your assumption is she "doesn't believe men can be abused." She's written multiple books with male characters who were abused/have trauma. If you don't like this book that's fine, but your assumption is false.

Her first big hit features a male character who suffered domestic violence from his spouse. There are both male and female abusers and victims in her books. Maybe don't make assumptions about an author from one tie-in novel.
