one of the most surreal moments of my life was standing post early in the morning at my tiny patrol base in Helmand. a patrol of SEALs walks up "hey we killed a bunch of guys last night. we didn't find as many bodies as we killed. did you see a tractor or van with a bunch of bodies?"
