Despite birding the Yorkshire coast for 45 years, scarce migrants I've watched in off the sea limited to Yellow-brow & Red-backed Shrike - so this morning's Richard's Pipit @flamboroughbird.bsky.social straight in at number one. A species that has become much scarcer here over the last decade.

What a week away. Pallas Warbler, Rufous-tailed Robin and Isabelline Shrike RT-Robin was the hardest to get a picture of. Had good views but brief. When if did break cover for a slightly longer period, it was almost dark. Hence the terrible record shot. It’s been a fantastic week away birding.

Slightly embarrassed to post this very poor image of the Great Grey Shrike on Mynydd Hiraethog this morning but 😊 to see one here at last. It had a good number of ‘Christmas Tree’ perches to choose from and was feeding quite well in the ☀️. #birdingWales @birdsinwales.bsky.social
