At some point I should actually write that manifesto on transhumanist feminism I've been toying with ideas for (which amounts to "we should seek to influence medical research towards the elimination of human sexual dimorphism and/or making dimorphic characters freely chosen")
Show PostAnyways, treat this as your regular reminder that "biological sex" is socially constructed and coercively enforced (by treating natural variation that fails to correspond to someone's "biological sex" as a defect in need of medical correction)
Show PostI want to live to see a day where we talk about pregnancy as a phenomenon in the past tense.
Show PostArtificial wombs are already a technology that should have research into it far better funded than it is currently, if only because they could help save preterm babies! Might help raise birth rates too, if you care about those, as they'd allow queer people to have kids w/o surrogates!
Show PostWe have occasional discourse about how saying pregnancy is "body horror", "disgusting" etc. is "not feminist" But what if I'm a transhumanist feminist who thinks we should pursue medical technology to abolish pregnancy in favor of artificial wombs? I see no reason to romanticize our bodies' flaws.
