Here’s the NY Times story saying Trump is a vulgar and muddled mess, showing signs of elderly dementia. This headline, which shows up when you share the story, is weaker than the print headline or the current headline on the homepage. But still, NYT is finally writing about Trump’s broken brain.

It’s a shame that the online NY Times headline about Trump’s broken brain isn’t the same as the print version, which is excellent, using the words “vulgar” and “muddled.” NYT has about 2.8 million digital subscribers and 550,000 print subscribers, so more people got the weaker headline.

People say to me, “Why does it matter what the NY Times does? The people we need to reach don’t read the NY Times.” And I tell them other journalists get their cues and permission structure from NYT. I know because I worked for decades in Chicago newspapers. NYT influences people who never read it.

I hate it when TV shows say they contain 'Adult Situations' but then don't show anyone going to work, paying their bills, or cleaning up after the kids!
