When people automatically assume "less palatable" means "harms others" Someone with a disorder or disability doesn't have to commit harm for people to justify treating them subhuman, hello? Usually it's just "well they act really annoying and cringe in a way I can't romanticize"

This is part of why "authoritarianism" is a meaningless term, it's so vague and poorly defined that you could apply it to any country on earth with a little bit of elbow grease, and the explaining you have to do to justify it would be just as effective even without the jargon.
