1. AI should play a large role before we see anything from anyone so it comes out right in the first place. 2. AI should play a big role in retrospective replications. 3. Piketty-Saez-Zucman work has many flaws that all go one direction. Spreading slop hurts all three causes.

What prompted me to post this? Both OpenAI and Anthropic independently arrived at exp(O(n*(log log n)/sqrt{log n}))-time algorithms for 3-SAT with n variables. We tried to improve this bound, and presumably OpenAI did too. Could that be the optimal bound? It seems wrong, but who knows. 🤷
