Daily bunny no.3488 has been waiting for you
Show PostIf you're trans, maybe you have an awkward ID situation. Maybe you're nervous around cis strangers. But this is a matter of exercising your right as an equal US citizen. Avoiding voting for fear of transphobia would mean transphobia is suppressing your vote. So you can do this. I know you can.
Show PostIn absolute full disclosure - and bc these records are public - I didn't manage to vote early before I left MA to help my family through a family member's rehab and return home. So I might not get back in time to vote this year. It sucks, and I'm kicking myself for not getting it done.
Show PostYou can use your ballot to express your vague anger and dissatisfaction with your options. Write Trans Rights on every line, if you want. That's an option you have. It's a better option than convincing yourself you're doing something by staying home.
Show PostI started voting regularly in midterms and off years in my late 20s, after having only voted in presidential years before then. I was angry about a lot of candidates running unopposed, so I wrote in members of my family rather than check a box for someone with no opponent.
