Some self-styled fiscal watchdogs will always lambast the use of TIF in Saint Paul, but the numbers tell a powerful story of tax base growth. One TIF district's annual tax revenue grew from $55k/year to $1mil/year-- more than an eighteen-fold increase. (To say nothing of the jobs created!)

Why the ‘Trick-or-Treat Test’ still matters for better neighbourhoods. My past @opinion.bloomberg.com article. Every year, #Halloween trick-or-treating reveals a LOT about good and bad urban design and more walkable neighbourhoods all year long. Think about it as you look/walk around on Halloween.
