The point being: Halifax widening Robie Street is for cars. If they were willing to inconvenience cars more they could have all sorts of Swiss-style transit priority.
Show PostCheck this out: Zurich had a pinch point in the road network just like Halifax. They have a whole toolbox to make sure those pinch points don't hold up the bus. The pinnacle is when they hold traffic and let the bus use the opposing lane!
Show PostWow, if I was a professor I could do a whole hour on this concept alone. Halifax is tearing down apartments to widen a street for BRT. On one hand I appreciate the commitment to faster transit! On the other hand, can you imagine Zurich doing the same? There are so so many other options.
