I would absolutely *love it* if the problem were that trans people weren't "fully supported" by Democrats. What's actually happening is that lots of Democrats are calling us the enemy just for existing, let alone for refusing to vote for our own oppression. Are Republicans worse? Barely. Barely!

cis people lie about us and to us constantly - almost exclusively. your first pass filter should be "what is best for our community," not "what is embarrassingly true." when cis people goad you to frame our rights as frivolous your reflexive priority should be trans people first and truth second.

if you're trans we need you to say you won't vote for transphobes. even if you will vote for transphobes we need you to tell them you won't. it's always ok to lie to cis ppl if you need to. we need you to. it's better political positioning for all of us to at least perform rejection of transphobia
