Rewatching Picard S3 tonight and Jean Luc confusing starbase numbers seems like something Patrick had added to hint at what he was going through. Picard S2 & 3 seem like they were what he wanted to do as his swan song, but then we all got lucky with a few more Marvel appearances. 😭
