The government "wouldn't want to see excessive tax manipulation" and they are "looking at trying to ensure" good behaviour by Shell. Oh dear. Sigh. Business as usual then and trebles all round.

UK govt has given the go ahead to gas production at the Jackdaw field in the North Sea. It is expected to generate £1.5bn tax revenue over a 11-year period. Will it be collected? Jackdaw is 50% owned by Shell, with a history of aggressive tax practices. Watch the Minister's reply.
