Sometimes when I look at what's going on in AI spaces and how people talk it seems like they're doing a sort of nonstop 2000s LARP, like what if the dot com boom never stopped and the culture of the 00s and 10s was eternal, and I think that's the biggest tell that this is a dying empire fantasy

I ran into that a lot in the early days. You know what's really neat? Giving your character flaws. Like, sure they can be special and have some unique abilities, but maybe there's some circumstances where they need help or are just out of their element.
