is another method. Silicone won't melt, but many other materials will. But don't boil anything with a motor! For future toy purchases, buying from body-safe only retailers or indie toy makers who only use platinum cure silicone or glass makes it easy to buy without worry. I'm happy to make recs!

Great question! For toys you've already purchased, you can try a flame test, though it's not always accurate. You can also allow 2 toys to touch to see if there's any reaction (melting, color transfer, surface feel changes would all indicate non-silicone). Putting them in a pot of boiling water...
