the Troublesome Tanker isn't perfect by any means, but it gets the vibe right. the Laughing Van throwback face is wonderful, and bringing back the purple from the african tankers was a good call. the only thing keeping her from being literally perfect is her poor handfeel.

Bill is the weakest (non-redeco) link in this wave. the color-matching on the yellow is really bad, which would be understandable given how hard it is to make yellow paint and plastic match correctly, but the paint looks visibly unfinished. hope they rectify this when they reissue him next Spring.

i was expecting to hate Duck, but his handfeel is the best of this batch. the color matching between the plastic and the painted metal doesn't photograph well, but in person it's basically perfect. the only things holding him back are A) the plastic tanks, and B) the use of gray instead of black.

i want to like Rheneas! the idea of designing the Narrow Gauge engines to scale with the Motorized trains is kinda genius! but he's undermined by both the lack of fellow Narrow Gauge engines to accompany him (at present moment) and by alienating himself from his native toyline. feeling conflicted.
