Me too. I explain why in the videos and in the face to face sessions. I tell them I want to hear their voices and listen to their ideas. I'm lucky that in my module it's about making a good argument rather than being right. I hope some of it registers.

Two showed me viscerally how much crumpling helps - the recent ‘60w belair that folded the whole car around the driver & one from the 1920s showing a large car of the time hitting a train and the entire car survived except for its suspension - but the people inside were mincemeat against the dash.
